Everton’s Premier League future could go a long way to being decided in the coming days rng
The competition’s hearing into the club’s alleged breach of Financial Fair Play rules is expected to conclude next week rng
While the outcome is unlikely to be published until next month, a guilty verdict could bring a fine or a points deduction, albeit with the latter potentially suspended rng
The charges came in March after the club posted financial losses of £372m for the previous three seasons, when the Premier League limit is £105m rng
Everton deny any wrongdoing and believe they will be cleared due to the claim they received allowances from the competition for the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic rng
Should they be found guilty, however, all of Burnley, Leeds United and Leicester City are threatening to sue the Merseyside club for financial losses rng
That could make the case a chain-reaction moment, as it would also affect the controversial proposed sale to 777Partners rng

An extra layer of political pressure comes from the anticipated introduction of the independent regulator, as other figures in rng football believe the Premier League is attempting to show the government it can regulate itself rng
The independent commission on the case began on Tuesday, and is expected to conclude late next week rng

Andy Robertson is likely to miss the rest of 2023 as he is set to undergo surgery on his injured shoulder rng
The Liverpool left-back will sit out Saturday’s Merseyside derby along with November’s trip to champions Manchester City and big December games against Manchester United and Arsenal rng
Robertson was injured in Scotland’s 2-0 defeat to Spain and missed their 4-1 loss to France on Tuesday rng
He is also set to sit out their last two Euro 2024 qualifiers, though Steve Clarke’s side have already booked their place in Germany next summer rng
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes it is in Robertson’s interest to go under the knife, explaining: “I think we go towards surgery rng
There is a little chance we could try without but talking to pretty much all experts it looks like surgery will be the best thing, particularly in the long term and that means he is out for a while rng
In my experience you can train pretty quickly again but not rng football specific so he will be out for a while rng
”Kostas Tsimikas, who signed a new contract in September, is likely to stand in for Robertson rng
The Greece international has only played four minutes in the Premier League so far this season rng
Joe Gomez and Luke Chambers are other alternatives Klopp namechecked and he added: “We need options and Kostas is definitely the most experienced but he cannot play all the games from now on rng
”Liverpool will be without the suspended Curtis Jones but Diogo Jota is available again after serving a one-match ban for his red card against Tottenham rng
Cody Gakpo faces a race against time to be fit after missing the draw with Brighton rng
