The Ballon d’Or and Ballon d’Or Féminin are annual awards presented by French news magazine France games Football and have been running since 1956, with the latest awards ceremony taking place on Monday games
Former Real Madrid captain Karim Benzema won the Ballon d’Or last season while Barcelona’s Alexia Putellas won the women’s award for a second consecutive year games
Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi is the favourite to claim the men’s trophy for a record-extending eighth time while Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and PSG’s Kylian Mbappe should perform well in the voting games
Putellas spent most of last season injured, so there will be a new winner for the women’s prize with Barcelona teammate Aitana Bonmati the favourite games
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the ceremony:When is the Ballon d’OrThe 67th annual Ballon d’Or ceremony will take place on Monday 30 October 2023 games
It is expected to begin at 8:00pm BST at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, France games

Andy Robertson is likely to miss the rest of 2023 as he is set to undergo surgery on his injured shoulder games
The Liverpool left-back will sit out Saturday’s Merseyside derby along with November’s trip to champions Manchester City and big December games against Manchester United and Arsenal games
Robertson was injured in Scotland’s 2-0 defeat to Spain and missed their 4-1 loss to France on Tuesday games
He is also set to sit out their last two Euro 2024 qualifiers, though Steve Clarke’s side have already booked their place in Germany next summer games
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes it is in Robertson’s interest to go under the knife, explaining: “I think we go towards surgery games
There is a little chance we could try without but talking to pretty much all experts it looks like surgery will be the best thing, particularly in the long term and that means he is out for a while games
In my experience you can train pretty quickly again but not games football specific so he will be out for a while games
”Kostas Tsimikas, who signed a new contract in September, is likely to stand in for Robertson games
The Greece international has only played four minutes in the Premier League so far this season games
Joe Gomez and Luke Chambers are other alternatives Klopp namechecked and he added: “We need options and Kostas is definitely the most experienced but he cannot play all the games from now on games
”Liverpool will be without the suspended Curtis Jones but Diogo Jota is available again after serving a one-match ban for his red card against Tottenham games
Cody Gakpo faces a race against time to be fit after missing the draw with Brighton games
The Netherlands forward is back in training games
